Duckhams Car Returns as University Student Restores Racing Fiat

We were super excited to learn of the restoration of the Duckhams supported, Wally Pratt owned, Fiat 600. Wally Pratt featured in one of our adverts during the 1970s and was a renowned trials driver and economy run winner in his little Fiat thanks to his hand built engine, protected by Duckhams oils.

The world’s biggest and most spectacular motor race is a little over a month away. The event this year will be held over the weekend of 15-17th June 2018 on the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans in Western France. It is an event that, for nearly a century, has attracted the best drivers and manufacturers competing to prove themselves in the gruelling enduro.

The four-day event, organised by the Endurance Rally Association, covered 726 miles and negotiated 13 Tests and 15 Regularities between Brooklands in Surrey and Edinburgh, Scotland. It started at 1pm on Thursday 26th April and ended around 3:15pm on Sunday 29th April on the world-famous Royal Mile, with crews greeted by Frank Ross, Edinburgh's Right Honourable Lord Lieutenant and Lord Provost.

If your classic has a full-flow oil filter fitted (i.e. a disposable cartridge or spin-on filter as with many post -1960 vehicles), then Duckhams Classic Q 20W-50 is the mineral oil choice for your car. Vintage vehicle applications.If your car has a strainer-type filter, predominantly found on older and pre-war vehicles, and has not had a full flow, cartridge or spin-on type filter retro-fitted, then your choice is Duckhams Classic SAE 40 (for summer) or SAE 30 for winter. These low detergent monogrades are also the choice for many classic air-cooled engines such as those found on VWs. Purchase Classic SAE30 or Classic SAE40
